Paleo Day One - Foraging for Lunch
I knew lunch wouldn’t be perfect, considering I haven’t even been able to get to a grocery store/market since I decided to make the switch this morning. All things considered, I think I did pretty well with what I had to work with. I wrapped some sliced turkey around low-fat mozarella sticks and had a handful of almonds. The biggest problem is that, because we’re so short staffed at work, I had to go a lot longer than I thought I would until I could leave for my lunch break, so I was super hungry when I got home. That being said, I did not have my usual hunger pangs around 10:00 - I didn’t start feeling hungry until about 11:30, when I would have normally been going to lunch. So the omelet did its job!
I also received a response from the chiropractic office I emailed this morning. They asked for my number so they could call and set up a time to talk with their Paleo nutritionist. They’ll probably want to get me signed up for their bloodwork and everything they do (which is not something I’m looking for) but it can’t hurt to just go and talk with the nutritionist at least.
I’ve already had a few coworkers mention that they didn’t think it was a good idea to cut out all the grains from my diet. But I think if I when I stick with this and they see any results I might have, they’ll change their tune.
Just doing the Impossible, that’s all :D
Tonight I think I’ll do a chicken vegetable stir-fry with whatever frozen veggies I have. Too bad peas aren’t paleo :(
